Best Classic Spider Solitaire is the Spider variant of the solitaire card game, played with two decks of cards. The idea is to sort the whole deck into complete runs that start with a King and end with an Ace, which takes more planning than it first seems. It sits with our Solitaire games.
No download is involved, the HTML5 game opens on this page. If you know Spider from an old computer, the rules here work the way you remember.
How Spider works
The deal fills ten columns. Any card may go onto a card of the next higher value, though a group of cards moves together only when every card in it is the same suit. Complete a King through Ace sequence in one suit and the game lifts it off. Stuck? Deal another row from the stock, and carry on until no cards remain.
Spider tips
- Work toward a bare column early on, since any card or run can be parked there while you untangle the rest.
- When two moves look equal, pick the one that keeps a suit together.
- Use up the moves on the table before you deal from the stock.
