Freecell Classic earns its name from the look, carved wood around the table and playing cards drawn in an old fashioned style. Underneath it is standard FreeCell, with the usual free cells and foundations.
What sets it apart is a time limit, so each deal has to be solved before the clock runs down. You can solve deals on a phone or a PC, and it is filed under our card games category.
Solving a deal in time
Move all cards to the four home piles, building each suit upward from the Ace. In the tableau, stack cards in descending order with colors alternating. The spare cells hold one card each and give you room to maneuver. Keep an eye on the timer, a finished deal only counts if you beat the clock.
Beating the clock
- Plan the first few moves before touching a card, the timer rewards a clear plan.
- Leave a spare cell open whenever possible, a full set of cells ties your hands.
- Free the Aces early, they open up the home piles.
