Wild West Klondike is classic Klondike solitaire with a cowboy country theme. The aim is the one card players know well, getting every card up to the four piles at the top, each one running from Ace to King.

In the tableau below, each card must be one lower than the card it covers, with red and black taking turns, and the pile at the upper left deals you a fresh open card each time you click it. It plays with the mouse or on a phone, and fans of patience games can find more in Solitaire.

Klondike rules

Build the four foundation stacks at the top, each starting with an Ace and ending with a King. Below them, stack tableau cards in falling order, switching between red and black every time. When no move is left, click the pile in the upper left corner to turn up another card. In Klondike, only a King can usually fill an empty tableau column.

Solitaire strategy

  • Free up hidden tableau cards early, they are what blocks most games.
  • Do not rush cards onto the foundations if you still need them for building.
  • Hold a cleared column open for a King that unlocks a long pile.
