Description
Instructions: Use your mouse to play this game.
Stronghold Solitaire is a patience game in which all the cards have to end up on the four foundations. It gives you free cells as extra room, which makes it feel close to FreeCell, although the tableau has its own rule, since only the top card of each pile can be moved.
Computers and phones both run it fine. Card fans who like to plan a few moves ahead will find more patience games in Solitaire.
The rules of Stronghold
Your goal is to build all the cards onto the four foundations. Columns on the tableau are built downward, and only the top card of a pile is available for play. The free cells work as temporary storage, each holding a single card while you reach the ones buried underneath. Move cards with the mouse or with your finger.
Winning more deals
- Keep at least one free cell empty whenever you can, because a crowded row of cells limits your options.
- Free up aces and low cards early, since the foundations cannot grow without them.
- Before moving a card, check what the move uncovers and whether that card can be played.
