How the paddle and ball formula works
Arkanoid took the old Breakout idea and added power ups, and nearly every brick breaker since has followed it. A paddle slides along the bottom of the screen, a ball bounces off it, and each brick the ball hits cracks or disappears. Miss the ball and you lose a life.
