Symbolic is classic mahjong solitaire with a small change. Instead of the traditional mahjong pictures, the tiles show symbols, which makes pairs easier to recognize for players who never learned the old characters.
The goal stays the same, match two tiles with the same symbol and clear the layout. It belongs to our Mahjong Games and suits kids and adults alike, whether played with a mouse or a finger. Sessions can be as short or long as you want.
How to play Symbolic
Hunt for two tiles showing the same symbol that are not blocked. In classic mahjong solitaire that means no tile rests on them and a left or right edge is clear. Click the two of them to lift the pair off. Keep matching until the board is empty and the layout is solved.
Mahjong tips
- Free up tiles in the tallest stacks first.
- Before you match, check if a third identical tile is also free.
- Think one pair ahead, some matches open more of the board than others.
