Shisen-Sho is the classic form of Mahjong Connect, a tile game that looks like mahjong but plays by its own rule. A pair of matching tiles can go only when a line can join them while bending twice at most.
That line rule turns every board into a little puzzle of paths and corners, which gives it a character of its own. Our Mahjong Games category is where Shisen-Sho sits, and a click or a tap selects each tile.
Connecting the tiles
Pick two identical tiles that are free. They disappear if a path can join them that turns at right angles no more than twice, without crossing any other tile. Clear all the tiles to finish the board. The path may also run around the outside edge of the layout.
Shisen-Sho tips
- Work from the outside of the board inward, the edges give paths more room.
- Before removing a pair, check it does not block another pair you need.
- Pairs next to each other are easy, but save them if they keep a path open.
