Most people learned Sea Battleship on squared paper. Two players hide ships on a grid and take turns guessing where the other side placed theirs. This version keeps that idea and plays it out on screen.
It belongs with our Board Game titles, and it has a real strategy side once you start thinking about where ships are likely to be. A mouse click fires a shot at a desk, a tap does the same on a phone, and rounds stay short on both.
Rules of the naval battle
Both sides place their fleet on a grid that the other cannot see. You then pick a square to fire at, and the game tells you if you hit or missed. A ship goes down once all of its squares are hit, and the battle belongs to whoever wipes out the rival fleet first.
Naval strategy tips
- Once you score a hit, probe the neighboring squares to trace the rest of that ship.
- Spread early shots across the grid rather than clustering them.
- Ships cannot overlap, so squares around a sunk ship are often empty.
